Sarita's Story

Sarita was born in a very remote village of Nepal called Humla.
The basic facilities like transportation, health services, quality education, communication etc. are still out of reach for the people in this area. Everything was fine with Sarita's life until it took U-turn when she lost her father at the age of 7 due to kidney stone.
Her father could have been saved easily if there were any hospitals. When I talked to her in my last visit to Humla she mentioned, it became very difficult for her mother to look after her and her other three siblings as the whole family was dependent on father.
As it became almost impossible for her mother to look after them Sarita decided to marry earlier and go away so that she won't be burden to her mother anymore. She was married to a man from the same locality at the age of 14. She had her first daughter when she was18, second at the age of 19 and the third one at the age 23. Sarita was happy to have her own family even though she had to work very hard to look after her three beautiful daughter.
On the other hand she was very sad that her husband was alcoholic and was going through some mental problem. Her husband was totally depressed because they were not able to give a birth to a son. He used to think all three daughter are burden for him. Sarita's life took second U-turn when her husband one day came home with a iron rod and hit her youngest daughter right on the middle of the head and killed her.
When I last talked to her, she said, it was the saddest day of her life. She said she could not even explain how it feels loosing her baby girl. Her husband is now sentenced with life imprisonment. Sarita is just 25 years old now but you won't believe she looks like the women of 40 if you see her in person. I can easily assume all her struggles are the reasons behind that.
The whole Pandemic situation caused even more problems for her to look after the daughters as she could not go out to work for two years. She's been struggling to give quality life and education to her daughters. On top of everything she has some loan to pay off which took during pandemic.

WHAT DOES SARITA DO Sarita has long experience as a farmer. Apart from farming she also can work as a daily wage worker in construction side.

OUR GOAL After hearing the story of Sarita we have decided to help her in any way we can. Our goal it to raise somewhere around €(1000-1500) to help her settle her loan and major problems. We are also open to bringing two of her daughters into Home of Dreams as soon as we find reliable sponsors. We need your support to help this young lady raise her little daughters. We are grateful for your contributions in our previous projects.
